Slapped 7-8 times, kicked in chest and sensitive parts: Swati Maliwal in FIR
Sheetal Devi, the 16-year-old armless archer from Jammu and Kashmir, achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first Indian woman to secure two gold medals in a single edition of the Asian Para Games.
Sheetal, who uses her foot to hold the bow, clinched the top spot in the women's individual compound event, defeating Singapore's Alim Nur Syahidah 144-142 in the gold medal match. This marks her third medal in the Games, having previously won a gold in the compound mixed team event and a silver in women's doubles.
Sheetal Devi's journey began after being discovered at a military camp in Kishtwar, where she was adopted by the Indian Army. Earlier in July, she also became the first armless woman to win a Para World Archery Championships medal, solidifying her status as a remarkable athlete.
